X marks the Spot: Astrid George

Meet our valued team member Astrid

Sixteen years ago, Astrid George stepped into the world of CoreDux for the first time. What began as a plan to gain five years of experience in a technical environment evolved into an impressive sixteen-year career where she constantly found new challenges. Today, she leads complex projects as a Project Manager within the Aeronautics & Defence (A&D) department in France. We spoke with Astrid about her growth, her passion for quality, and the unique culture at CoreDux.

Why do you like working at CoreDux?

Without a doubt, the possibility to grow. I joined CoreDux sixteen years ago as a Quality Engineer in the automotive production units. Since then, I have worked in various departments, from piping to the assembly line, and in 2021, I became QHSE Deputy Manager. Since 2025, I’ve been a Project Manager for the A&D department. CoreDux offers real opportunities to develop and take on new responsibilities. It’s never boring here.

Why did you choose to work for CoreDux?

When I was thirty and started here, I wanted to gain more experience in a technical and industrial environment. I had a master’s degree in Quality, Safety and Environment, but not yet a strong technical background. CoreDux was the company with the highest technical level and therefore my favourite. Actually, I planned to stay for four or five years, but because of the internal growth opportunities and increasingly complex projects, I’m still here.

What makes CoreDux different from other companies?

CoreDux really supports internal growth; my own career is a good example of that. There is a strong technical culture and we maintain very high quality standards and certifications. But what really makes CoreDux special is the employee engagement. Everyone genuinely enjoys working here, regardless of the department. You don’t often see that at other companies.

Can you tell us something about your current project?

I’ve been working on an engine program for six months now. This is a strategic project for CoreDux France because it’s a major aerospace project. We produce piping for aircraft engines that power commercial planes all over the world. I learn a lot because it is totally new for me, and I get to work with experienced colleagues like Luca and MarieClaire.

How would you describe the collaboration within the teams?

Practical and efficient. We work closely across all departments: production, engineering, and project management. Especially in the aerospace sector, we really need each other. The projects are extremely complex and highly regulated, making teamwork essential. Communication and trust are the most important keys here.

What skill is essential to have in order to work at CoreDux?

Adaptability is essential. Projects vary enormously per sector: whether it’s A&D, Semicon or New Energy. The requirements and ways of working are different everywhere. In addition, a strong sense of responsibility is crucial. In aerospace, where quality and safety are critical, we have to be very careful and have a strong quality basis.

What is your personal contribution to the success of CoreDux?

Thanks to my background in QHSE, I often act as the bridge between different worlds. I understand both the operational challenges in production and the strict requirements and expectations of the customer. Making that link is important for long-term success.

In what ways can you improve yourself as a CoreDux employee?

Working in the A&D department pushes me to improve myself every day. I am currently developing my project management skills, risk management, and customer communication. A strong organization is necessary to meet the rigorous demands of our customers and ensure nothing is overlooked. Additionally, it remains a challenge to balance my job with my family life.

What surprised you most when you first joined CoreDux?

The enormous technical expertise and the employee engagement. Everyone enjoys working here, regardless of the department or sector. You don’t often see this at other companies, and it makes CoreDux truly special.

Do you have a favourite ritual, habit or tradition within the company?

I don’t really have specific rituals, except for drinking a coffee when I arrive at the office. What I really appreciate is the communication between teams. We can discuss issues and best practices very openly during meetings, over coffee, or at lunch. There is a real ‘team mindset’. As a result, new people are welcomed and onboarded very quickly.

Did you know…

If you ask Astrid’s colleagues to describe her, they use words like ‘enthusiastic’, ‘broad interests’, and someone who ‘adapts quickly’. Oh, and apparently, she also has excellent taste in clothing! Outside of her challenging job, Astrid manages a busy ‘team’ at home: she is the proud mother of four sons.
