When Aeronautic applications require PTFE components, qualification is never straightforward. Strict industry standards determine how materials and assemblies must be validated before they can be used in critical air systems.
In this first CoreCase, we take a closer look at a project with a French Aeronautic customer, where CoreDux managed qualification activities for braided PTFE solutions in line with Aeronautic industry norms and customer-specific requirements. The case illustrats how engineering collaboration and structured qualification enable reliable solutions for the Aeronautic supply chain.
The challenge: industry qualification for PTFE components
PTFE components are widely used in industrial applications. However, Aeronautic applications require an entirely different level of validation.
Materials and components must comply with strict testing, extensive 18 months qualification trajectory and certification procedures defined by Aeronautic industry standards. These standards determine how products are tested, validated and approved for use.
In this project, CoreDux focused on qualifying its PTFE hose solution according to Aeronautic industry standards and coordinating the qualification of the customer-specific assembly in line with the application requirements.
Why Aeronautic qualification is fundamentally different
While PTFE components are widely applied across many industries, Aeronautic applications introduce an entirely different qualification framework. In aviation and Aeronautic environments, materials and components must comply with strict certification procedures defined by industry standards. These standards determine how products are tested, validated and approved before they can be used in critical systems.
For the French Aeronautic customer involved in this project, the objective was not simply to validate a PTFE component for a specific application. Instead, the goal was to work with a PTFE hose solution whose qualification is managed according to recognised Aeronautic industry norms, while also qualifying the final assembly according to customer-specific requirements.
This distinction is significant. In many industrial markets, PTFE components are typically qualified according to individual customer specifications. Aeronautic projects, however, require qualification on two levels: the PTFE product according to Aeronautic industry standards, and the final assembly according to the specific requirements of the customer and application.
Within this context, CoreDux managed and coordinated the qualification activities around the PTFE solution. Engineering tasks, project planning and qualification procedures had to be carefully aligned to meet the required Aeronautic standards.
For CoreDux, the project represents an important milestone. By managing qualification of its PTFE hose solution according to industry norms and coordinating customer-specific assembly qualification, the company takes a significant step towards establishing PTFE capabilities suitable for Aeronautic applications.

Beyond the technical qualification itself, the project also creates strategic value for Aeronautic customers. CoreDux approach
To support the qualification process, CoreDux coordinated the project; developed and qualification activities around the braided PTFE hose solution.
This included aligning engineering tasks, managing the planning and ensuring that the testing and qualification process complied with the required Aeronautic industry standards. Besides qualifying the product for a single customer specification, the objective was to also qualify the PTFE hose solution according to industry norms, while coordinating qualification of the customer-specific assembly for the intended application.
Managing the qualification trajectory
Qualifying PTFE solutions for Aeronautic applications requires careful coordination between engineering, qualification procedures and project management.
Within this project, CoreDux managed the full qualification trajectory for the PTFE solution. As Technical Product Manager, CoreDux was responsible for coordinating the activities required to achieve qualification, ensuring that planning, technical development and project costs remained aligned throughout the process.
The focus of the project was not only on validating the product itself, but on ensuring that the PTFE solution met the required Aeronautic industry norms. This distinction is important: while many PTFE components are qualified according to customer-specific requirements, Aeronautic projects demand compliance with standardized industry procedures. In addition, each customer-specific assembly must be qualified against the requirements of the specific application and customer.
Through this structured approach, CoreDux supported the customer in navigating the qualification process while establishing a PTFE capability that meets the expectations of Aeronautic applications.
In doing so, CoreDux positions itself as a European partner capable of supporting Aeronautic customers with PTFE solutions qualified according to Aeronautic industry standards.
A European partner for qualified PTFE solutions
With this project, CoreDux successfully supported the qualification of PTFE hose solutions according to Aeronautic industry standards.
Beyond the technical qualification itself, the project marks an important step in positioning CoreDux as a European partner capable of supporting Aeronautic customers with qualified PTFE hose solutions.
By enabling qualification according to industry norms, Aeronautic customers gain access to an additional global source, strengthening supply chain resilience and enabling greater sourcing flexibility.
